Yoga
At Lotus Rising, we offer a yoga program just for you. You may want a
class which focuses on strength building. Or perhaps you want a more
meditative, spiritual practice. Whatever your interest, we provide an
accessible, fun experience to students of all ages and levels of
experience. We celebrate the physical and spiritual aspects of yoga and
support the transformational benefits this practice offers our students.
We believe breath awareness and mindful movement lead to a deeper
understanding of self and a more satisfying life.

Anusara (a-nu-SAR-a) means, "to step into the current of Divine Will", "following your heart", "flowing with Grace", "to move with the current of divine will." A new style developed by John Friend, Anusara yoga is described as heart-oriented, spiritually inspiring, yet grounded in a deep knowledge of outer and inner body alignment. Each student's various abilities and limitations are deeply respected and honored.

Hatha Yoga uses traditional yoga poses for stretching and strength building for a deep sense of wellbeing and peace.

Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, uses repetitive breath work, movement, postures, chanting, and meditation to stimulate relaxation and well-being. Kundalini Yoga assists in eliminating negative habit patterns as it promotes balance.

Sometimes thought of as "flow yoga." This uses a flowing sequence of asanas or poses coordinated with the breath. Vinyasa is a sanskrit word - "nyasa" means "to place" and "vi" means "in a special way." Classes can be vigorous, moderate, or gentle.
